Overview
Terra is a cloud-based platform designed for biomedical data analysis, secure sharing, and global collaboration. It allows researchers to securely access petabytes of biomedical data, including genomic and clinical datasets, or bring their own data. Terra provides a federated framework enabling secure collaboration without data leaving the user's IT network. Key features include access to data science tools, secure sharing of large clinico-genomic research datasets while ensuring data sovereignty, and collaborative workspaces. Terra is fully open-sourced via a BSD-3 clause license. It supports workflows, single-cell analysis, and handles a wide range of data types, catering to academic medical centers, pharma biotech, biobanks, research consortia, and public health communities. The platform emphasizes scalability, security, and compliance with data regulations.
