The Polyend Play is a groovebox designed for intuitive sample-based music creation and live performance. It features an 8x16 step sequencing grid for constructing patterns, coupled with sample manipulation capabilities. Users can load their own samples or utilize the included library of over 3000 sounds. The device boasts 8 audio tracks and 8 MIDI tracks for controlling external gear, enabling complex polyrhythmic and polymetric sequences. Its performance mode allows for non-destructive real-time effects and automation recording. Flexible MIDI CC mapping and chord/arpeggio output enhance integration with studio setups. The Play's open sandbox approach offers a streamlined workflow ideal for both studio production and live improvisation. A split-screen display and touch-capacitive knobs enable parameter adjustment, while features like Smart Fill, Randomizer, and Scale Filtering facilitate rapid idea generation and experimentation.
